I guess the bottom of my hair was wrapped around the seatbelt. I unhook my belt and jumped out the car and my head and neck were jerked to the left as the seatbelt rewound. My neck hurts and I have a headache. Is it heat or ice that I should apply?

Ouch!!! :( I've done that too and lost a lot of hair in the process (I'm much more careful with seatbelts these days). :o I'd definately be putting a heat pack on and rubbing in some kind of soothing medicated oil. I hope you feel better soon. :blossom:

That would be painful. I have a problem shutting the ends in the door or getting my hair stuck to the edge of the velcro on my honey's seat belt pads. Sometimes when I kneel my tips gets under my feet and then I stand up and practically rip my own head off. Its kind of a pain to always try and remember exactly where one's hair is, but less a pain than whiplash:p Hope you feel better soon.

Ouchies! :grouphug: I would take a pain reliever as well, but I think heat is good for sorenedd, cold is good for inflammation. I am thinking a heating pad or one of those heat packs, just be careful that it isn't too warm for your skin.
When you ride in the car again, maybe do a quickie updo/bun/ponytail, or very least a hair check from now on! :( That stinks!
Poor lady, I hope it doesn't hurt too bad! :grouphug:

Cold/ice packs should be the first steps used in any injury. After more than two days, heat can be used for relaxation.
Cold keeps inflammation down and minimizes swelling, which can cause more pain.
I never like the thought of adding unpleasant sensations (cold) to an already unpleasant feeling area, but it always feels good to me when I make myself do it.

I took two ibprofins and used an icepack. It feels better all ready. Darn curly hair. It looks shoulder length but it's actually APL when stretched straight. I have been wearing my hair up lately because the ends are started to rub on my chair at work. Guess I'll have to wear it up all the time now.

Yes the longer it gets the more chance of running into some kind of terrible thing. I got mine caught in a fan a few weeks ago and boy it HURT. I was very lucky I didn't lose a lot of hair and get hurt worse! Be careful!!!

Ouch! I'm glad you're feeling better.
Things do get 'interesting' once hair is long enough to get into trouble on its own.

It's not just when your hair is down you have to watch out, either. Several times I've had a nasty yank when my hairsticks meet my beaded door curtain :scared:

Ouch, I'm glad you didn't have a serious injury! :grouphug:
I was looking at a paper shredder one day, my hair was loose, I didn't have a close call or an accident, but I had an awful thought and decided never to own a paper shredder. :poot:

Today I almost had an accident again! I was raising the garage door and my hair got in the contraption part that closes the door. I noticed it before it got caught or damaged though. We all need to be more careful huh?

Please, please, please be careful everyone :(
I don't even want to imagine the bad accidents that can happen when your long hair is involved.

Eeek! I am so sorry that happened to you! I hope you feel better soon!
I'm usually pretty careful with my hair, but now that you mention it, I really ought to pay a tad more attention to it.
...now I really have the urge to keep wearing my hair up all the time, not just due to work, but also the fear of hair accidents!
