I found out yesterday that one of the men I work with is an artist. He had his portfolio at work yesterday and I fell in love with this drawing. I'm presenting it here with his permission. The story is that one of his friends had a little girl who was asking about Heaven. Bill rendered this vision of Heaven for her. To him, it's very important to know that there are strawberries in Heaven. The beautiful girl with the long hair is supposed to be the one he drew it for. I just love it. Whadda y'all think?

It's beautiful! I can see his definite love for strawberries.

I wonder why the tree has no leaves on it though...?

I think the tree with no leaves is symbolic for winter's "death". . .and the promise of Spring's "rebirth". . .see the bird (spirit) taking flight into heaven?

I also really love the idea of strawberries in heaven.

Then you could hollow out one side and use it as a bathtub! Hehehe. Somehow I don't think that would be quite so tasty, but it would be fun to "bathe in watermelon" literally!

How beautiful - the hair, the berries - but mostly that he took the time to create this art as an explanation - WOW! Thanks for sharing.

I think it is beautiful, Leni. Whimsical with a hint of old fashioned style in the woman. This is a reason I am thinking of working more in colored pencils too. I'll have to see if he has an artist blog; thanks for his name!

AL, he does not have an artist's blog. He says he only "creates" when he is inspired. He works a full time job and is in a band too.
