If not enough curlies turn up for you, you can always search the members and peek at albums; here's the 3a's (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/memberlist.php?do=getall), the 3b's (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/memberlist.php?do=getall), the 3c's (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/memberlist.php?do=getall)...

ETA: oops, can't link member search results! Thanks Arctic for pointing that out. Well, if you click on 'members', then 'advanced search', you can search by hairtype and see 'em all!

I've come to the conclusion that I have 2c/3a hair, although sometimes it seems some might contest otherwise. I've got a public album with a few shots in it if that helps any.

Unfortunately we can't post link to member search results, your links go to the normal member lists. :( That suggestion though is exellent, OP can use the advanced member search to find curlies and look at their albums.

I have three hair albums (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?u=12302), and one is for curly updos (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=555) specifically since there are relatively few of those here.

I also have a few pics on the blog in my sig.

I believe I have 3a curls. I have a pic of the curls in my signature and as my profile picture. Also, I have pictures of when I was younger in my album, if those will help. Not all of my pictures show my curls, though, since for years I brushed my hair, and thought it was just naturally wavy. o,o I'm so glad I rediscovered my curls!

DotDotDot, :agape: :thudpile: and Gumball knows that I simply love his hair! LOLAnd any others that I missed naming

From her recent appearance in the curly/curly thread, I gathered that she didn't always wear it so curly?

It *does* look quite fabulous with the curls though!

It's pretty hard to hairtype yourself, hehe. My hair is two ways!

Here's my hair when it curls up, for the OP:

(For the record, my hair when it's not over-oiled and has been combed out / worn for a day or two:

There is an interesting versatility in the 2c/3a range that I don't get on my own hair.

If I tried to do that, the results would not be nearly as nice as yours!

Yeah, I don't really understand my hairtype :( I think it's accurate, what I chose, because mostly my ends and short hairs are curly, but they never were curly BEFORE. It's only recently that I realized that my hairtype might be what it is when I wash and then overoil, actually, and what made me take that picture. The top layer is really ... frizzy and damaged compared to the underlayer, which is where all my *nice* curls are, which is why I clipped the toplayer (my hair isn't layered, but...) up for the picture... *talks in circles*

I thought my hairtype was as the last picture is, for the longest time. When I wash my hair and then go to sleep, I lay my hair over the top of the pillow and it kind of lays in a 'pool' above the pillow... and it dries differently curled, even! Bigger clumps of hair curl together, and the curls are kind of kinky, they'll kink and switch directions, and aren't really "ringlets" as much as crazy-arse things masquerading as curls, I guess. I'll have to take a picture some morning when my hair looks like that. I'd wear my hair curly more if it didn't require over-oiling it and them not surviving through updos :( I usually do it on special occasions.

I:
- Wash hair, use tons of conditioner. (Normally no/little C but just a little shampoo on my scalp)
- 'Squeegee' (as TorrinPaige says) the water out. Just squish down the length, not wring.
- Towel-'squeegee'. Same as above, but this time even more excess water gets soaked up by the towel.
- Gently comb.
- Oil! I generally will apply 3-4 "smoothings" of oil to my hair for this.
- Fix up the top layer if I'm going out.
- Gently comb once more, since as soon as I even look at a comb, my curls disintegrate. It's still wet at this point. This separates my hair so it can feel free to 'curl up'
- Don't Touch. I sit in a very still environment with my hair down and dressed for about an hour before going anywhere. I can only do this if I'm not going anywhere at all or if I'm going to be getting in a car with the windows up, or, again, the curls disintegrate.
