I ran across this today:
http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/soap/product.asp?product_id=oilbroccoli
The description says "Imparts Sheen and Luster Comparable to Silicone." Sounds nifty.
Has anyone used it? It's pretty expensive, but it sounds worth a try.

I use it. I love it. I don't want any other oil for my hair anymore.

Ooh it looks interesting!
I'm not sure if I could afford it, though. Do you think you need to lose a lot?

Wow, that is pretty pricey per ounce, but I'd love to try it.:)

I only need very little, just drops of it. And it's not even half the price here in Germany.

I've used it. A little goes a long way. Mostly, I use it in my version of Kimberlily's Anti-Frizz spray, and one capful makes an entire spray-bottle's worth of spray.

I've passed my hair budget for this month, but I'll put it on my list for the future. :) I bet it would be great in conditioner. The frizz spray is a great idea too!

I use it at the ends when the hair is almost dry. I like what it does to my hair but the smell is a bit offensive!

Where do you get it and what is it called here in Germany? (I'm an American living here...)

In Germany it is called "Brokkolisamenöl". You can get it online for example at behawe.com, they have small samples that don't cost much.
I use it for a few weeks now and really like it, a little bit goes a very long way. It is great as a leave-in oil and gives great shine.
Mine smells not like broccoli but rather fresh and only a little bit veggie-like. The scent doesn't stay in the hair for me.

I buy my Brokkolisamenöl at www.behawe.com as well. But there is http://www.gisellamanske.com/189501.html where it is even less expensive, only the smallest bottle is 100ml (in contrast to 30ml at behawe). Both shops sell organic, virgin qualitiy.
The smell doesn't bother me either. It's a "greenish" smell that vanishes very quickly after applying to the hair.

I wonder if it penetrates the hairshaft :)

I am not sure that it penetrates the hairshaft. I have the feeling it sits on the hair like a silicon serum, that's why I only use it as a leave-in and never for a prewash oiling.

I have the exact opposite impression (I also tried the oil on my skin). This oil is very thin and seems to spread everywhere very quickly. It's a bit like coconut oil in this respect, only much, much lighter. My hair sucks it up just like that, my skin does the same. So it never gives this oily feeling like coconut oil can sometimes.

Sounds like it would be brilliant to add to leave-ins... Coconut oil, jojoba oil, broccoli seed oil, EO, perhaps shea butter?

My hair hated it and it went to a better home. My hair hates silicones so maybe the same principle occurred there. It didn't spread out well and felt heavy in the "doesn't go away and absorb/spread" type of way. I do not put any oil on wet or damp hair (that is a recipe for disaster for me) so that may have worked against me.

I've not tried silicones (well, possibly, but I've been using the same Indian herb-based shampoo and conditioner since I was 16 so I honestly don't remember what I used before that). My hair does like coconut oil, is fine when I put on the odd dab of cocoa butter (though not the greatest oil for it), and isn't wild about aloe vera or jojoba oil if either is used alone. Am I likely to like it?
For those those find the smell annoying, would putting in the odd drop of rosemary oil sort that out?
Is it an oil that's worth blending with others, such as with coconut, or is it best used alone?

I wonder if it penetrates the hairshaft :)
It's an oil higher in linoleic acid than oleic acid, so more than likely it does not penetrate the hair shaft. However, it is supposed to be a wonderful oil. Ojon's Tawaka Ancient Conditioner contains it.

Wow, that is an old thread for such a great oil. Broccoli seed oil is so far my absolute favorite oil for my ends  It works great for me with the LOC method.
Is here anyone who still uses it frequently?

I almost got oregano oil today. A tiny bottle of it too. Passed it up, though; wondering about the scent.

I use broccoli seed oil from time to time for my ends. Works very well. But applied on the whole hair or lenghts, it takes all volume :/

Oregano oil smells nasty IMO. It could be good for dandruff if you have bacterial or yeast issues, but I think there are less smelly and less irritating options out there.
