Just kinda was fooling around and came up with this neat 4 strand braid and thought i'd share. It's very think (this is only half my hair!) and leaves a tad bit tail but I really like it.

That's stunning! I really can't get the hang of 4-strand braiding...I can do it on strings but the minute I try and apply that to hair, my own or anyone else's, I'm all thumbs.

That looks great! It looks more like a flat 4-strand since the box-braid version is, well, boxier. At longer lengths the flat 4-strand starts to slowly twist. Yours turned out really well! Good job.

Thank you all! I am mainly amazed at how much length this eats up! It makes my hair look much shorter than it is hehe.

Very nice! My hands wouldn't know what to do and I'd probably end up with something that required oil and fifteen hours of combing out the snarls :D
Your one braid is thicker than my entire braid!

Did you do it like this one? http://dreamweaverbraiding.com/braids/flat4.htm Whenever I do that, it tends to spiral. Yours is amazingly non-spiraly. Cool.

Stunning is definitely the right word for your hair. This braid looks great, and really very neatly done! And i'm amazed by how much hair you have... (i'm a finie thinnie, in the greatest depth of envy)

ZadenWillowfyre, your braid is amazing, and I agree that the non-spiraliness of it is wonderful.

Oh that's very cool! I have yet to try a four strand braid. Strangely the directions for 5 strand seemed simpler to me so I went for that option first. LOL

I'm *so* glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. I won't wear a four-strand anymore; I hate that twist. So it's threes or fives for me.

Give the four-strand another go! The box braid is just a different type of four-strand. The twisty kind is the flat version.
