Trouble with Smilies?

I am having trouble with smilies and colors when I post. Anyone else having similar trouble or know how to fix? I can't seem to be able to click on colors, bold, anything.

I'm also having a lot of trouble with smilies--and other pages--loading very slowly or incompletely or not at all (Page Load Error time-out message).

It seems that if the little graphic for a smilie doesn't load and you just see the name of it on the screen, it won't show up in the post you are writing.

Looking for answers, too!
