I did a thing with my hair

Yesterday I threw my hair into a twisty bun thing with this figure-eight clip. I just meant for it to be out of my way, but it looked so pretty I wanted to share it.

That is very pretty! I have often done some quick, thrown together updo and thought, 'hey, that is awesome looking!' So I know how that can be. :)

I think I will put up some instructions sometime soon. I need to take some in process pictures.

I will, however, try to to give a quick-and-dirty written explanation.

1. Brush hair back, make it smootish on top, etc.
2. Take hold of hair at base of neck and start twisting it. It doesn't matter which direction. Do what feels natural.
3. Keep moving your hands down the hair, twisting it as you go. I find this to be the easiest way. Go until you have about a foot and a half of hair twisted. It should be slightly overtwisted so that it keeps trying to double back on itself. This will be important.
4. Pull the twisted hair up across the back of your head, and then fold it in half, and let that part twist back on itself. All the while holding on to the remainder of hair so it doesn't untwist.
5. The twisted up part will more or less stay in place by itself. Continue twisting the rest of the hair and wrap it around the outside of the already twisted part.
6. Do this until you run out of hair, and tuck the ends under the mass of hair somewhere.
7. Use some kind of big clip to hold it in place. I like the flexi-8. No pins necessary.

Thank you for the directions, I tried this and it was fab! It stayed up all day at work on Friday and I knew it looked good. My hair isn't as *big* as yours, but it did make a very nice intricate twisty bun and my slide held it beautifully. :) I will for sure use this again.

...and you don't have to justify sharing anything - we all love to look at hair photos. ;) And it's great to see that you're happy with your hair and still experimenting with it at longer lengths. Lots of people lose interest in creating new updos long before they reach 44". :)
