I realised today...

... that I've been a member of the forums for around 9 months now, and that my hair has grown!

I found this out by accident, I was looking for a photo of my Jack Russell, and came across some photos I'd taken last september when I did my first henna, and found one that actually showed the length of my hair properly. I was surprised when I compared it to one taken the other day (I finally remembered perhaps a picture record of length from behind might give me a clue as to how much it has grown other than just measuring, took me a while eh? I blame the weather....)

So, here is September 2008 (plus one full head application of Jamilla henna)

And here is yesterday (with a few jamilla henna glosses, and a full head Punjabi Prime henna application about a month ago)

This is also the point when I realised I would now be itching to get it cut short again, especially with our humid hot weather here in the UK this week. So, next target is to avoid the hairdresser for the rest of the year, even though I would really like to start trimming out those layers....

Yay! Your henna is so pretty. Isn't it nice to realize you've grown? I didn't think my hair was growing at all, and then I found some pictures from nearly two years ago, and my hair has grown so much!

Now, how come there are no pics of the Jack russel? ;)

Very nice! Leave the scissors alone. You're about able to make an updo on the hot summer days, and if you start messing with your layers that won't work any more! ;)

Very nice! Are your layers long enough to stay in an updo? My hair is about as long as yours, and now that the weather has warmed up I find that I put it up a lot more often. It's not long enough to do a lot of things, but I've gotten creative in finding ways to get it off of my neck. :)

Thank you all. Fortunately, fine hair means it goes in updos :), even with the layers, i just have to clip the very top layer/round the face bits on top of my head first, which actually helps give a little height/softness to the updo, especially as the rest of it has to be tightly twisted/rolled to keep it all in and secure. This is a godsend at the moment with the weather in the UK, I don't mind the heat so much, it's the humidity that's doing me in, which also means hair has to be off the back of my neck.
