My first LHC anniversary!

It's been a year since I stopped lurking and became a member of this wonderful community :) My hair looked like this then:

My shortest layers were about to my neck and the longest were almost BSL. During the year I trimmed about one third of my growth to slowly get rid of the layers and today my hair looked like this:

I'm finally brushing waist and my shortest layers are past shoulders. I went through a very stressful time this spring and started shedding a lot, and my hair is now a bit thinner than last summer. But I've already got some nice new growth so things are getting better again.

And here's some ponytail comparison :D The first one is taken in September 2007 (9 months before I joined), the second in June 2008 and the third in June 2009.

I just want to thank you all for your support and encouragement. When I first joined I thought I'd like to have waist length hair with less layers, but lately I've changed my goal to at least hip, thanks to all the beautiful heads of hair I've seen here :D

NOTE: The colours of the pics look a bit weird, they were alright when I uploaded them from the camera, but when I put them on the net they went all gray and pale. I haven't found a solution for that yet, but at least you can get the idea of the length :)

Aww thank you guys! I like the layering too when I wear my hair loose, but it's very difficult to make a neat-looking updo as the shorter layers keep poking out. I'm planning to keep some long layers though.

I'm pretty surprised myself how much my hair seems to have grown, but I'm rather short waisted (and 5'4'' tall) and even an inch of growth looks like a lot on me. My hair has grown a bit over four inches and I've trimmed off 2'', so it's a pretty standard growth rate.

Now I'm going to stay at waist and let the shorter layers keep up so that maybe next summer my hair will be a little past waist with a thick hemline. :cheese:
