I managed to do it! With my own two hands. Am I proud of myself or what! Posted these on the longhair community on LiveJournal at first but thought to share them with you guys as well.

Here's the rope:

And something else as well, first two French braids into one braid:

Then a normal 3-strand French braid, and for comparison a 5-strand French braid that I was fighting with for HOURS but finally managed to get it right - and was hugely underwhelmed because it ended up looking almost exactly the same as the 3-strand. All the hard work for nothing! Well, at least you've been warned now :D Oh well.

I love the look of french ropes. They have an elegance to them. All those styles look wonderful! You did a great job on them, swanns.

Beautiful braids! I cant wait till my shorter layers grow out so my ropes arent so prickly looking. Congradulations :D

I love the french rope! For some reason I can't wrap my brain around this one. i just get confused with all the twisting...
