I just watched the Lord of the Rings for the first time and i thought it was cool how the Dwarf plaited his beard.
Any guys out there willing to try?? Please post a photo! I would....if i had a beard :(

My BF has a short messy beard and hates the look of braids. Here they are popular among Viking, heavy metal kind of guys and tend to give that kind of impression. He says it looks like a poser, and won't grow long enough to do it.


Last time I watched LOTR I found myself examining the braid in Gimli's beard and how it changes from scene to scene...hair nerd!

i love a big, full beard on a man (must be my Viking roots!), and i also do renaissance faires, so i get to see them and creative braids in them all the time! Yay!

oh, I love the look of braided beard! Ale, that some long braids you have there:) Bf has a beard but refuses to let me braid it because he says it's too tight (no matter how loose I make the base...) If I had a beard I would certainly braid it, but I doubt my invisible short peach fuss allows a braid;)

Thanks for all the compliments! I don't have so much beard, but I enjoy what I have...by the way, this is my preferred look, althoug I usually go out with no braids or just one rope braid (or a bunned beard in the gym, to prevent it from being caught when I'm at the lat machine...ouch!

I was thinking of how many guys could post here, as few men keep beards these days, even in the LHC community. So I had the same idea as Gylfi and goofed around with a "beard-wig" produced of my own hair (I'll spare you the photos ;))

SO has a blonde-and-gray velcro-like beard and at its longest (in the depths of winter) he will braid it out (a whole 2 inches), but he puts a giamongus, ugly, round turquoise bead on the bottom and completely ... i don't know... makes a tomfoolery of it. that giant bead looks so stoooopid!

and of course i have no picture ... nerp

He does it mainly to annoy me, and of course it works ... him and his velcro beard, yeesh.

I can't braid my beard until my hair is long enough to supply a third strand ;)
