I was talking to a girl at Starbucks today and we exchanged hair compliments. She told me that she blots dry with a towel and then gently rubs one of those clothes dryer sheets on her hair. After that she either air drys her hair or uses the cool setting on a blow dryer. Her hair was amazing. Has anyone heard of this or tried it? I have these sheets and the ingredients are "biodegradable cationic softeners and perfume. I'm not sure what a cationic softener is but it does not list cones. Very curious to see what you all think.

I know that dryer sheets can be used to keep static electricity at bay if rubbed on your hair. It never worked for me, but I keep reading about it everywhere. I wonder if that was the reason.

I have heard of people doing this but I think I would prefer a more natural solution to the problem.

Here is an online article (http://lighterfootstep.com/2008/11/are-dryer-sheets-safe-to-use-on-pets/) that should give you a bit of information about the relative safety of this practice.

Thanks Silver & Gold. I do not have a static electricity problem and sure don't want any of those side effects. I would not try this on my dog. What was she thinking? I will share this with her if I see her at Starbucks again. I'll save my sheets for the clothes dryer.

Cations are ions with a positive charge, like the sodium in table salt (Na+Cl-). How they would go about softening, I do not know.
