This wash is one year since I started measuring and using nice washing methods and oils.

One year ago I was 27 inches.
Today I reached 33 inches :cheese:

Not very very much, very average. I have had no spurts and no stalls (maybe mini ones). I have trimmed about max 1 cm (0.8 inch).

So this means, 3 years to my goal if I trim most 1-2 inch during that time... Then I will break my former personal length record from 1998 :D

My first real length pic is from November 2008 or something.
I have used no SL(E)S since May last year.

Some pics, all clickable photobucket thumbs:

This is May 2008, after my first CO. Just to show structure after CO. I have no real length pic.

April 2009, after home made shampoo from catnip and calendula tea, with decyl glucose as cleanser. Very soft and clean ^_^

Today, 29th May. Have washed with the same decyl glucose shampoo as mentioned above.

All pictures show my hair a little longer than it is, due to camera angle. I am 6 foot tall, and has just reached waist.

You have gorgeous hair!

WHY did you cut it in 1998? What length was it after the cut?

Your hair looks great!

I also want to know why you cut from the 1998 length. Was it to clean up ends or other matters?

Either way, your hair looks great now. :)

Your hair looks wonderful! I think gaining 6" in a year is fantastic growth. Many people don't get that much.

Six inches is great; you've grown that without damage for a start!

I noticed you named some of the months in what I assume is Swedish? Mars heehee, it's cool!

Thank you all for your nice comments. It is so fun to get long hair again :)
And learning to do useful updos :cheese:
But I get a bit obsessed with counting shed hairs, protect hair, measuring :o
Not to speak about total S&D's. I do a quarter of all my hair every 6th week. (It's nice that I can see A LOT less splits than in the 90's, so the protection; updos, oils, mild washes are paying off. Maybe I should stretch time between my S&D sessions even more, I find very few splits now :) feels like I am just going through my hair to check - I am so happy about that.)

Last time I had long hair, I could not do any real updos. Always had banded pony tail, loose hair or in a real ugly strange coiled updo with big hair dresser clamps.

Reason I did cut in 1998, was I wanted to make 40's dos (with reverse rolls). I cut it straight and blunt just below shoulder blades. I did cut more after that, but I could not make myself cut it at once.
I had never shorter than shoulder length, and I did never cut those layers that had been great for 40's dos.

Here I am with the do I used to do with shorter hair:

And here my old length from a bit below shoulder blades:

 I thought it felt wrong, but sometimes head is blank :D

My hair was blunt at start, but during first S&D I discovered very many splits and white dots. I had not been gentle with it when I did not save for longer lengths.
No ironing, blow drying or such, but not so nice combing and always very much too dry hair and I did evil manipulation with elastics. Also always had barettes/clips that caught hair every time used.
But now splits seems to be gone, and no bits of hair falling when combing, so I must do something right :-) I thank the oils, protection and stop using SL(E)S. I am so happy with that.
