Help me re-type my hair!

Hey all, I first joined a bit over a year ago and typed myself at a 1c, since I had been exclusively using CO and combed my hair while wet- resulting in straight hair with just a bit of wave at the end. For the past few months, I have read that you're supposed to type your hair after drying without combing, so I've totally been doing it wrong! *smacks self in head*

I decided to investigate these mythical waves, and see if they would appear without combing :eye: As a result, I believe I need a new hairtype. I'm still straight-haired if I comb while wet, but if I don't... take a look for yourself :D

I dunno, I think it's starting to lean towards 2a! Have you been moisturizing extra lately? That might push it over the edge into 1c/2a or 2a proper.

your hair reminds me a LOT of mine with those loose spirals coming out. So I'd say maybe 2a, maybe 1c - you might find, as I did, that it gets wavier the longer it gets.

1c is mostly straight, to my mind, and your hair LOOKS more wavy than that. One of the criteria that helps me is looking at how your hair ACTS - if it's frizzy, that means it is more like wavy hair than straight.

Hair typing is all about how you treat your hair. It helps me to think of my hair as wavy because then I can deal with it better.

Is there a page here that gives you info about hair typing? I don't know what my hair type is. It's longish, with fine hair but people say I have a lot of it. IT gets dry/ frizzy a bit some days and gets wavy looking if I sleep on it. Most people would consider it straight though.
I just guessed on my hair type...but is there an official list somewhere?

Thanks all! I was thinking to move up to 2a, because as Katze said, I'm treating my hair more like wavy hair. Furiana, I have been doing more moisturizing lately- I was using my shampoo bar and then using a leave-in, but lately I have been coating my length in light conditioner, using the shampoo bar (and letting the suds run through), then doing a heavier conditioner on length, sort of a modified CWC. I think it's really helping bring out my waves :)

Oh, and thank you all for the compliments! I can't take credit though, the shine and color is brought out by LUSH Caca Rouge. I'm obsessed with it!
