I gave a new member, TheSoulforged here a deep conditioning treatment and trim today. Photo documentation!

First was a coconut milk soak on the length, followed by an SMT for an hour. Then after rinsing, finished with a heavily diluted ACV rinse.

Befores, with heavy oiling of coconut, jojoba, and shea butter:

During, he was not amused (yay pore strips!) :o

After, combed out and wet:

Trimmed about an inch of splits off, still damp with some aloe gel:

What a terrific friend you are!! His hair turned out GREAT!! I agree with your typing, although I can't weigh in on the texture since it's hard to tell from a pic. Kudos to both of you!!! :applause:

wow his curls look great on him! fantastic job! I would guess possibly 3b/c

Tighter than mine, I would give that at the very least 3b. It has had handling and product though, so it could be either looser or tighter than completely airdried would show.

Hmm, second and third thoughts say maybe even 3b/c by the time it's dry-ish in the last picture.

Fourth thoughts say it looks like the bits near his face have tighter spring than the pieces in back. I'd love to trade some of my not-as-curly front bits for some of his tighter-curled front bits so we could both have an even mix of curliness. :D

Good work there! My money is on 3b overall.

Very nice!

I see 3b curls near the front, but looser spirals in the back, so I'd say 3a/3b.

Great Hair! Wow

Thanks everyone! He should be by later too :)

I'm thinking 3a/3b now too. It's a looser curl when air dried according to my limited knowledge and tends to get really frizzy.

Thanks for all the compliments. For a long time, I've been stubbornly trying to straighten my hair, but I guess I've finally given up on that. It's just too bad the nice curlies got messed up at work after that...

It wasn't nearly as bad as the time I used one back last fall, though. It was the first time I used one, it was not pretty....

Btw, if you're gonna show that, you have to show the full version you made.

Welcome Soulforged!

My vote is for 3a, with a little 3b here and there. Yup.

Nice curls! Do you use aloe vera gel? I've found that doesn't give me enough hold to last the whole day, but is better used as something to smooth down frizzies. Maybe try out some heavier gels? Some may feel a little 'crunchy' but as soon as the hair is dry you can scrunch at it a bit and the gel will loosen up.
