For at least the past few months, I've noticed that my hair doesn't seem to be as naturally wavy as usual. It still takes bun and braid waves as well as usual (and that's usually how I wear it anyway), but the few times I wanted to coax some waves out of it, it seemed to fall flat. So despite the major inconvenience of air drying without touching it (with the kids, it can be hazardous), I went ahead and did it today to see how my hair will look in it's natural state. However, I did keep a Buff on while it was drying to keep it mostly out of the way.
After many hours, it dried (of course). I'm not sure if the housework and constant flopping of the length back when it fell over my shoulder messed up the process, but it is very much less wavy than it used to be! I wish I knew what to do to get my waves back. I've taken to CWC more now, but did a CO before drying this time to compare to my last drying pictures. I did move overseas, so maybe the water and/or environment is making a difference- but this much? My hair is anything but dry right now- I've been babying it a lot the last few weeks and even my ends are soft and relatively happy. I don't even henna as much as I used to (used to be multiple times a month, now once a month or less often).
Okay, pics for all to see of what my waves used to be and what has become of it. Last air-dried pic I could find:

And today, after taking the Buff off. My butt isn't really that big, I had to squat down a bit to get all my hair in the pic:

And some other shots for varieties sake are, after combing:

Before taking off Buff, hair in front of shoulders. There is one strand that is wavy most of the way up from the back of my head...the rest are not:

And the front view again, but combed:

One last picture, this was done a couple days ago where I misted hair that was previously combed till dry (and quite straight) with water/condish/glycerine/aloe and did the Buff drying thing. I didn't get it soaking wet before drying, but it seems to have gotten wavier than today. Hard to tell with the lighting, but you can see the bends going up the side to my head. Not combed.

Do I need to reclassify myself? I miss my waves, and so does my DH. Any advice on what to do to get them back? It's so sad...
