Has anyone had any experience with the miessence shampoos or conditioner? I would really love to hear how good/bad it was. Thanks.

I tried both the Lemon Myrtle and Desert Flower shampoos. Here's what I said about them:
Miessence Lemon Myrtle Shampoo
~ This is really a nice shampoo. It's gentle, and it made my hair very shiny
Miessence Desert Flower Shampoo
~ More moisturizing and also very nice. It left my hair looking a little darker, but the silkiness was incredible; it was almost too slippery.
Now for the problems, and these are specific to me, so you may not have the same issues.
I can't use tea tree oil. When I tried these, I had seen an incorrect list of ingredients and didn't know it was in them. The shampoo made my scalp sting quite badly, and I couldn't figure out why until I saw the correct ingredients. I've had problems with tea tree oil before, and there isn't anything else in the product that should cause stinging for me.
Also, panthenol is quite high on the list of ingredients. I've had problems with that being a wave killer over time, but I didn't use the shampoos enough to notice if it was going to be a problem with them. Actually, I'm not sure I had discovered the panthenol problem at the time I tried these.
Anyway, if you don't have problems with those two ingredients, give Miessence a try. I really wanted to like them, and they came so close to being perfect. *sigh*

Thankyou Flaxen! That's a big help because I have issues with tea tree in regards to my asthma, so I don't want to be using it as a regular shampoo (I've used it for a lice treatment on a once off) - Do you know if the conditioner had tea tree? I didn't see it listed on the shampoo or conditioner - grrr its so hard to get a complete list of ingredients - off the internet :). I'm mostly looking at a conditioner as I'm soapnutting for the wash so far.
Oh dear, onto the product search again.
and Thankyou for moving my post - I never thought to put it in products -

Hi Milui Elenath,
I've been using both of the Lemon Myrtle and Desert Flower Shampoo, the Shine Herbal Hair Conditioner and the Protect B5 Hair Repair for almost two years now and my hair has thanked me with less breakage, less split ends and appearing very shiny and silky! Also, both my husband and I have several allergies and none of Miessence's hair care products have given us allergic reactions.
I hope that the following information will give you an idea about Miessence's hair care:
The Desert Flower Shampoo and The Lemon Myrtle Shampoo
The Desert Flower Shampoo is formulated with extremely mild Yucca juice and polyglucose to gently cleanse the hair while panthenol moisturizes the hair. Organic avocado oil restores lustre and hydrates dry and damaged ends and organic herbs add sheen and body to your hair. While the Lemon Myrtle Shampoo is formulated for cleansing and purifying normal/oily hair. I alternate between these two shampoos on a regular basis, washing my hair from 2 -3 times each week. I will tend to use the Lemon Myrtle Shampoo, however, after exercising or after oil treatments, as it is formulated for oilier hair types.
Shine Herbal Hair Conditioner
The conditioner hydrates, conditions and protects the hair with nourishing and emollient moringa seed oil and pro-vitamin B5 (panthenol) and organic herbs promote lustre and body. It also naturally balances the pH with organic apple cider vinegar. I use the conditioner after shampooing or at times, just on it's own. Not much is needed; I only apply it to the hair below my ears and focus on the tips. After applying and gently combing through, I will clip my hair up and let it sit for 5 - 10 minutes.
The Protect Hair Repair
The hair repair provides long lasting moisturization with panthnol that imparts lustre and conditions the hair. Organic rosehip seed oil moisturizes and softens dry, brittle ends while organic herbs help rebuild strength and body. After drying my hair in a towel for several minutes, I will spray the hair repair on my hair and gently comb it through my length. Since I've been using it, my hair feels much stronger, moisturized and healthy.
Flaxen, I'm curious, where you read that tea tree oil is in the Lemon Myrtle Shampoo? I'm holding a bottle of it right now, and it's not listed.

One may experience a hair detox for the first few weeks if they have been using hair care with silicone derivatives. Commercial hair care products often leave one's hair coated with plastic from the silicone derivatives (dimethicone, cyclomethicone, any chemical with 'cone' in it) they contain. The Miessence shampoos will not foam and the hair care will not work effectively until the coating has been removed by detoxing the hair. This can be done a number of ways:
Over time - using the Miessence products until it happens
Detoxing the hair with a few baths of 1 cup sea salt, 1 cut apple cider vinegar, 2 cut bicarb soda. Hop in the bath and swish your hair around in it.
Making a past of bicarb soda and a Miessence shampoo and washing your hair with it a few times.
Making a paste of clay with a Missence shampoo and washing your hair with that a few times.
During detox, your hair may feel knottier and dryer than usual. This is normal, as the hair eliminating the silicone from your hair. Be assured, it will improve. Once they have been dissolved, you will find that the Miessence shampoo foams and your hair is silky and soft. The Protect B5 Hair Repair will help to detangle and smooth your hair during the detox process.

Thankyou Flaxen!... Do you know if the conditioner had tea tree?...
I didn't try the conditioner at that time, but see my post after the next quote for why that might not make a difference anymore.
Flaxen, I'm curious, where you read that tea tree oil is in the Lemon Myrtle Shampoo? I'm holding a bottle of it right now, and it's not listed.
I had to check my old journal to see when I tried it, and these are the ingredients copied directly from Miessence's website in January 2006:
Miessence Lemon Myrtle Shampoo
Ingredients:
Certified Organic and natural aloe vera, coco polyglucose, non-gmo xanthan gum, non-gmo lecithin, d-panthenol, grapefruit extract, certified organic lemon myrtle essential oil, citric acid, certified organic horsetail extract, certified organic nettle extract, certified organic burdock extract, certified organic rosemary extract, certified organic sage extract, certified organic tea tree essential oil.
Miessence Desert Flower Shampoo
Ingredients:
Certified Organic and natural aloe vera, coco polyglucose, yucca schidigera extract, non-gmo lecithin, d-panthenol, organic safflower oil, organic avocado oil, non-gmo xanthan gum, lime essential oil, citric acid, organic horsetail extract, organic nettle extract, organic burdock extract, organic rosemary extract, organic sage extract, organic tea tree essential oil.
If they've reformulated without the tea tree oil, that would be GREAT! I'd love to try it again, and hopefully the panthenol wouldn't be a problem.

Thankyou for all your patient and detailed responses. I've also emailed Onegroup - Miessence to double check about the tea tree oil.
I would really love to give this product a go as it seems it doesn't harbour any of the usual nasties or hydrolised products. Plus its Aust. owned :D and I see they have concern for the environment in regards to their processing and packaging.

It seems that they have reformulated! Yay!
I copied the ingredient lists in my previous posts from their 2008 catalogue and I confirmed those ingredients with my shampoos (http://marylynn.mionegroup.com/en/category/2) and conditioner (http://marylynn.mionegroup.com/en/product/12301) (which I've ordered in the last month).
I tried to look back at their member news history to track down the information on this reformulation, but it seems that 2006 is a bit too far back. One guess is that they reformulated because when tea tree oil oxidizes in a cosmetic product it is capable of causing and irritation... If you'd like more information on the reformulation, I could e-mail ONE Group and ask them about it. I would probably have an answer within a couple of days.
Also, panthenol is quite high on the list of ingredients. I've had problems with that being a wave killer over time, but I didn't use the shampoos enough to notice if it was going to be a problem with them...
I can't speak from personal experience as my hair is stick straight, but I doubt that the panthenol will cause your waves problems. My husband has lovely, thick wavy hair and he's been using both of the shampoos for over two years and his hair is as gorgeous as ever! My mom-in-law, with the same type of hair has been using the shampoos for even longer and has never complained about her waves disappearing.

There are a couple of other Miessence products that I apply to my hair, and thought I'd mention them as this seems to be the appropriate place to do so. Even though they are not originally designed for hair, I find that both the Intensive Body Cream and Rejuvenessence Facial Serum work nicely as hair serums.
The Intensive Body Cream (http://marylynn.mionegroup.com/en/product/13420) is lighter and for the most part, better for daily use.
The Rejuvenessence Facial Serum (http://marylynn.mionegroup.com/en/product/11701) is best applied to the lower length of the hair. I try to avoid applying it too closely to my roots as the natural hair sebum does a fine job moisturizing there.
As I prefer my hair to be on the oilier side (like it feels the day after washing) I find that they both work beautifully to achieve the right amount of shine once my hair has dried after washing. They also smell heavenly!
Here are the ingredient lists:
Intensive Body Cream (Certified Organic, minimum 95% organic)
organic aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, aqua (purified water), organic helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, organic persea gratissima (avocado) fruit oil, organic butyrospermum parkii (shea) fruit butter, organic sugar-cane ethanol, sclerotium rolfsii gum, non-gmo lecithin, citrus aurantium amara (bitter orange) fruit extract, organic pelargonium graveolens (geranium) essential oil, organic olive (olea europaea) juice extract, organic pogostemon cablin (patchouli) essential oil, non-gmo xanthan gum, geraniol#, citronellol#, citral# (#component of organic essential oils).
Rejuvenessence Facial Serum (Certified Organic, minimum 95% organic)
organic persea gratissima (avocado) fruit oil, organic simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, organic rosa rubiginosa (rosehip) seed oil, organic helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, organic citrus limonum (lemon) essential oil, organic pelargonium graveolens (geranium) essential oil, organic calendula officinalis (marigold) flower C02 extract, daucus carota (carrot) CO2 extract, organic rosa damascena (rose) essential oil, organic rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, geraniol#, citonellol#, limonene#, citral# (#component of organic essential oils).

I also use Miessence. I use the Desert Flower shampoo twice a week followed by the conditioner, and the Lemon Myrtle shampoo maybe once a month when my hair feels like it needs a good clean. My hair looks better, and wavier, than it has for as long as I can remember :D.
That's funny about the tea tree oil - I was just thinking the other day that it would be good if they had a shampoo with tea tree oil in it, but it looks like I missed out on that one.
Apparently you can also use the conditioner as a leave in but I haven't tried that yet.

I've used the Shine Herbal Hair Conditioner as a leave-in several times, once because I forgot to rinse it out at the end of my shower :o.
It works beautifully as an overnight leave-in, but I find that I don't like to leave it in until my next wash; once my hair has dried with the conditioner applied, it feels a tad sticky and weighed down. This may be different for those of you with wavy or curly hair.

I just bought the Desert Flower Shampoo and the Shine Herbal Conditioner today. I used a clarifying shampoo on my hair this morning to get rid of any cones from my usual salon brand product and currently have the much recommended SMT under a shower cap right now. I am hoping to slowly rehabilitate my hair and will start using the Miessence shampoo and conditioner starting with my next wash. I will repost with my results soon.

Shampoo was great but I didn't like the Shine Herbal Conditioner all that much. It wasn't all that moisturizing for my hair so I have gone back to using Aveda. I will still use the Miessence conditioner but maybe only as the first conditioning during my CWC routine followed by my usual Aveda conditioner.

I've used the dry hair shampoo and conditioner. I found I had to use a LOT of the shampoo to cut through the greasies and therefore too expensive for me to keep buying. The conditioner is nice and thick, but smells sickly sweet of musk sticks and would make me gag. It's rather expensive too, IMO.

I've tried the Desert Flower Shampoo and I do like it! Only downside as rapunzell mentions is that you have to use quite a bit of it and it does get expensive.

I'm very tempted to try this brand as it sounds so nice. Unfortunately rather expensive though...
scottigirl_01 - I've found them for sale at a couple of on-line organic beauty product retailers (in the UK though, so probably no help to you, sorry!)
