Back in elementary school, we went on a science field trip out on a boat and we dredged up various critters and did all kinds of other 4th grade sciencey things. One thing that I remember was that the guy said that plankton was really good for your hair. Now, I'm not a biologist, but I can't think of a reason why it would be particularly good for hair. Do any of you know whether or not it is, and if so why? A further question would be, if it is good for your hair, is it outweighed by the salt and the sun etc?

That is so random! How would he know that? I am interested in knowing if anyone else has heard about this too!

Heh. I'm a biologist, but not dealing with this stuff. (Grad students do get to claim the title of "scientist", right? It feels weird.) I have no idea why or how plankton would be good for hair specifically, though I imagine it'd be fairly nutritious if it didn't have its usual tendency to produce interesting toxins.
