Hair clamps?

I have found a few different hair styles that I really like using hair clamps. The only one I have right now is metal. I was wondering if hair clamps were hair friendly against breakage? Should I be careful about the kind of hair clamp I buy? I am trying to stay away from the ponytail updo's.

I have read articles about hair friendly updo's, but haven't found anything about if I should be careful what kind of hair clamp to buy (metal, wood, plastic...?). Thanks! :)

Have you tried Ficcare? They have some great metal clamps that are fairly hair friendly.
