View Full Version : How to do this braid?

I was wondering if anyone has seen a braid like this. This is the picture in my avatar. I realize it's just a drawing, but the braid is so cool. Kind of like two braids on one side of the head; one from the back and one from the front, and they then come together and mesh and hang down separately again. I would like to know if anyone has seen it before or has any pictures or instructions. Thanks! :D

I haven't seen any like that before, but it looks like four braids to me. Done as follows: two braids made on the front of each side of the head, then the top braids from each side were brought around the back of the head and crossed over eachother, while the lower two braids were just left to hang. I hope that makes sense.

I would do it with six braids and partly loose hair.

- Make a centre part.
- Braid the front hair on each side. Clip the braids out of the way until you're done with the other braids.
- Make 2 more braids on each side, starting the actual braiding around ear-level. Be sure to leave some loose hair.
- Unclip the 2 front braids and tie them together at the back of your head OR merge them into one braid at the back.

Thanks for the tips. I wish I could find a real photo of someone who has done this.

I agree, it looks like 6 braids to me, two that are connected in the middle in the back, and two on each side left to hang down.

and as for the photo... that sounds like a challenge! if i wasnt at work, i would totally do this for you! Maybe when i get home I will!I needed something to do tonight!

OK, I followed my own instructions and I took a pic. I did this very fast, so it's a bit messy and it's only webcam-quality, but you get the idea (I hope).

That is way cool; thank you for showing me that! I think I may do that sometime for a Renaissance Festival or something.
