Today I have quite a bit of time at home and I kind of want to do an SMT or something...just for fun. My hair actually feels great aside from needing a CO wash.

Is there anything negative about giving my hair treats that it doesn't really need?

(Maybe I should just practice some updos/braids instead?)

I have never heard of any negative impact.

I don't think there's anything wrong with conditioning your hair even if it feels good (after all best way to fix something is prevent it from breaking in the first place...). But personally, I try to wash/wet my hair as little as possible, so I'd think that getting it wet when not needed is one time too many. But that's my take on that.

No i don't consider it wrong to give treat to our hair, but i think it will definitely prevent it from harsh things.

If you have the time and feel the inclination, why not?

It is possible to over-condition one's hair, also deep treatments might leave buil-up in hair (just like anything else). And if the DT is protein based, instead of moisture based, it might give problems if your hair doesn't need protein at that time. (Always follow protein with moisture!)
