I've read a few things about how great henna is for coloring and conditioning hair and I was just wondering if there's any way to get the same conditioning from it without the coloring effects.
I don't use henna but I've ofter wondered what makes it condition so well...

Another option is Cassia, and by that I mean cassia obovata (or however it's spelled), not the other sorts. Cassia is clear to slightly yellow, meaning that on anything other than light/white hair, it's clear, but may give yellow-gold on very light hair.

You can usually find it online... hennaforhair has it. :) It's applied just like henna, except you do not have to wait for dye release.

Caveat being, however, cassia does not work for everyone (just like henna), some people like henna but not cassia and vice versa, and it may take more than one app. to feel effects.
