What a cool site. :) Thanks for the link. I especially enjoyed Jeanne Zola's hair, but then again, I'm shooting for knee length hair so I guess I'm obssessed by that length. :D

Yes I love going there for encouragement. It has long been on of my favorites for vintage hair. There are several others that I go and drool over periodically. I will see if I can find my bookmarks.
This is one of them (http://www.rapunzelsdelight.com/hair_care(1).htm)

I wondered the same and I spent lot of time google searching but I didn't find anything about the hair treatments that they used.
I searched anything.
Victorian women hair care
Long hair women hair care etc
but I the only results that google gave me were some stupid from some shampoo brands. :(
I will search more and if I find something I will post it here.

Hi Marialena :waving:
I came across this on rapunzelsdelight website. It's hair care booklets from 1890s :D You can click on the images to enlarge them :)
Here's the links
http://www.rapunzelsdelight.com/images/HairCare/HairCare.htm
http://www.rapunzelsdelight.com/images/Palnora/Palnora.htm
Here's a booklet on 1922 hair care
http://www.rapunzelsdelight.com/images/care_of_the_hair/care_of_the_hair.htm
It seems in the 1922s they used glycerine and coconut oil to oil their dry hair :D

So look what I've found about Elisabeth of Austria. (Sisy)
http://www.hofburg-wien.at/en/things-to-know/tour-of-the-hofburg/dressingexercise-room.html
Elisabeth was especially proud of her thick, ankle-length hair, the care of which took up two to three hours a day. Once a month her hair was washed with a mixture of egg-yolks and cognac, a procedure that occupied a whole day.
Egg yolks and cognac.. I have to search more about this recipe!! ( wow)
