I think I've got my hair type figured out - but I wanted some second opinions :) Keep in mind that there are some crazy layers going on there - I'm wondering if that is part of what makes it look wavy?

Wet - put up in a towel for 5 minutes:

Almost dry, but still pretty damp (no combing yet):

I'd say you are 1C as your hair looks similar to wannabecurly in the visual typing pictures. I definitely think layers can affect the waves. You have very pretty shiny hair by the way :D

:cheese: Yay! I think I'd rather be 1C than 1B ... I never realized how it kinda "poofed" up as it dried until I took these pictures!

Thank you very much, by the way. I feel very blessed in the hair department - so why haven't I been wearing it long? he he :) But it'll grow ...

I'm having trouble telling, sorry - 1C looks likely, but that might change depending on how those s-waves of yours develop as your hair grows.

Your hair is lovely - it looks very healthy!

I agree with 1C. It looks similar to mine when it was shorter.

Who knows it might even end up a 2A! :D

Nat242 Thank you! Even when I was wearing it short - I do try to take care of it. I remember pretty young my parents teaching me to just shampoo the top and to put some conditioner on the ends when it is wet. And I take vitamins :)

EvaSimone A 2A would be nice, but I think the weight starts pulling out some of the wave when it gets longer - if I am remembering right! It's been a while!

KajiKodomo Thank you :) I don't know what I'd do if I wasn't a natural redhead, he he. I guess I'd have to henna, but I am so happy with my natural color I just let it be. It does tend to get a little lighter in the summer ... but I'm planning on wearing wide-brim hats to protect it from now on. It isn't like I can tan anyways ;)

1c was the first thing that came to me as I scrolled down your pictures, and it seems that others think so, too :) Straight with a distinct body wave. Pretty hair!

I'll add a vote for 1c, at least for now. When you get longer, you may find you have more of a wave pattern and need to go to a fully wavy type, though.
