I'm a week early, but I thought I'd post some progress pictures. Apart from the color issues I'm having, I'm really happy with my progress. Especially since when I joined, I described having hair longer than APL as an "elusive dream". I never thought I could grow hair and well, here I am!

So from here, I'd like to maintain at 27" to get rid of some layers and then I think I'll try for waist if my hair still looks decent.

Thanks for looking.

April 29, 2008 (sorry my hair is a little dirty in this one).

And one from last night. I had to change the contrast to pick up my ends but the color is pretty accurate.

Wow! Your hair looks great.

I just joined and my hair is right at your start picture (I don't have a current pic yet). I also feel like it will never ever grow past it's current length...so your pictures give me hope!!! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for everyone's supportive words.:flower:

LadyDi, my hair was the same length for years. I mean, like 10 or really, my whole life, and I was actively trying to grow it. Apart from some differences in routine (no heat, dye, daily shampoos, etc) the best thing I ever did was quit going to the stylist. Friends used to tell me if I wanted to grow my hair I needed to not cut it, but I was convinced if I didn't trim it every 8 weeks it would look horrible and would start self-trimming.

It may have with my old routine, but the hair stylist taking 1 inch off ever 8 weeks certainly didn't help my growth rate.

Thanks everyone.

DecafJane, it is actually a little thicker. I have a line of breakage that starts about where I last dyed my hair and it's slowly moving down. I'm hoping to eventually get up to 2.5" in circumference, which doesn't sound like much, but that would be about 0.5" gain in circumference. LHC has been great for my hair health!

So nice to see someone else making the journey from shoulderish to waist. Looking lovely. Won't it be fun when we can just focus on trimming to really thicken those ends up?

Tangles, absolutely! I'm trying to hold off until 27", but I'm really anxious to start. I'd love to try to get to waist first, but I think I have enough damage that I need to start maintaining soon or it might look pretty bad by waist, which is another 4" for me.

babybabycat, I'm so flattered I can actually be an inspiration. :o This site has been so beneficial to me to see others with hair similar to mine grow it long and healthy. I struggled with mine for years and spent most of my youth hating it. Knowing it is possible to grow it helps keep me from the dye and curling iron.

Thanks again everyone for your kind words.

Beautiful work. Keep on growing! You should be proud of how long it's gotten & such a nice color.
