I've noticed some funky hairs on my upper layer, not really breakage, but the texture is different from the others and less smooth.

I believe that's due to my ever present cinnamon bun, which looks nice, but also boring.

Please show me nice buns for iii hip length hair, that don't require twisting and no ponytail base, as I want to avoid both in the future.

This thread (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=22623) should help you.

My hair doesn't respond well to twisting, so most of the styles in my public album are non-twisted or minimally twisted, and none of them use a ponytail band. I wrote a how-to-do article for "the bun that stays."

I second the "bun that stays". It's really great, very secure and easy to learn. The Spiderbun! :D
Anyway, I think the chinese bun with the braided start can qualify, it's non twisting pony-base-less. Had a thread (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?p=525301#post525301) about that a while ago.

Thanks all! I'll surely try the Chinese bun with a braided base, and the Spiderbun looks really beautiful and could work with my hair!
