View Full Version : what do you think? picture heavy...

well the last time i posted a hairphoto was on my anniversary and i was pretty sad about it... i had been waiting the whole year to see how it was and it wasnt as good as i expected. this was in January this year, i had cut about 3 inches in October to blend a bit better the layers so my hair was shorter and i was growing my bangs. And the worst part isnt this, i had made a huge mistake with colour (on my roots only) and they were orangy lol the frist picture i will show you is from October (5 months ago)and i hadnt made any mistake about colour yet, just cuting the inches off. in january with that stupid mistake of colour i decided i had to cut even more hair to blend the growing bangs to blend better...stupid mistake! yes, so in january i was unhappy with my lenght, unhappy with hair colour and unhappy with hair cut lol

All of this time i thought my hair wasnt growing much cause all i saw in the mirror was the front part (that has lots of short parts as i will show you) this bothers me cause it takes a lot of the thickness but oh well, i think i have to stop thinking about it and let it grow! But the good news is, i think my hair has grown and my hair colour is now very natural (it happened with time i dont know why and it maches my natural) the only thing im not happy with is haircut but i tried to fix it in the hairdresser and it made no difference!
(all of them were taken with hair airdried without combing)

so this was in October 2008 after my trim of 3 inches

And this is now beginning of April 2009 (and you can compare with April 2008 that is my signature picture)

http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/7276/dsc0008y.jpg (http://img522.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc0008y.jpg)

So what do you think? and what would you do with my terrible hair cut? (the front part) im sorry for the huge thread but im still insecure about it and i was needing some support in here :o

I think your hair looks thick and very healthy. Lovely colour.

If I would not want your front cut, I would have just waited and waited. I had a very small fringe when I started to grow my hair last time in the 90's, and I just let it be and made S&D to it. After 1-2 years, it blended with my braid, or could be used to make nice accents until it got too long.

If you just trim the hemline in the shape it already got, and S&D the front, it wont take so long to blend in nicely.

I hope I got the question correct and not answered something odd...

I love it... I wouldn't do a thing to it!

Your hair looks great even with the roots. You hair also has grown quite a bit from Jan to April :)

HotRag you answered my question right! i know my english is very confusing... eheh and i made lot of points in here so it makes it even worst..but yes my main consearn is my front and what i could do with it, if i wanted to have a better blend with the rest i would have to cut even more and i dont think i want that... so you are right, ill just have to wait... you have beautiful hair by the way!

I think you've got some lovely growth. The color is also very nice!

If you're working toward a full hemline (no layers) you'll need to do a few trims a year of the longest parts to give the shortest parts a chance to catch up. Do you measure monthly? What is your growth rate like?

Growing out bangs is always the hardest. IMO they look like poop for way TOO long! I had to learn to like headbands, pins and find other ways to wear them back until I could get them into a braid or ponytail. Then, when I finally got them grown out, I go and cut them again! LOL

There are a lot of fun ways to keep your bang from looking too funky while they grow. Just keep up the good work!

Your hair is beautiful... I wouldn't do a thing to it. Don't worry about your apparent lack of progress. Sometimes I feel like my hair grows 1/4th of an inch a month, but as long as you take care of it, it will keep coming. Patience is not a virtue I really have, but it's worth it.

thank you all, this support is very important so i dont get to do any mistake again by trying to fix it and make it even worst...
by the way, i dont mind the layers on the back but i do mind the huge difference between the front and the back but i thought about it and i think that when my bangs reach my shoulders i wont care as much as i do now. My boyfriend loves my bangs the way they are .. hmm.. but i dont ehe :P

I think it's a cute cut and I like the color! :)

I'm not 100% sure what it is you're asking....are you wanting to grow your bangs and layers out even with the longer part of your hair? If so, you can either maintain current length until it all catches up, maintain further down your body when you hit a longer milestone until it catches up, or do a major chop to bangs-length. But I would leave it alone! It's cute!!

I did the exact same thing... I grew all my bangs and my layers out to my hip it too me 8 years. Then I chopped in bangs...lol.

my hair colour is SO wrong in these pictures! it was right on the original photo and then imageshack changed the colour?? does this happen to you when you try to upload photos?

I love your hair and wouldn't do a single thing to it for now.Your bangs seem to be just about to start blending in with the sides,or will do in a couple of months.Your layers are so similiar to mine and the length too, just that I have even longer layers on the bottom of my canopy.I'm hoping my bangs will get to where yours are in about 2 months if the current growth spurt continues. And by then it will look exactly like your pic.But I wont touch it and then maybe once its all merged I'll get a hairdresser to neaten it up,under a very watchful eye LOL.
You have also had great growth in these 6 months.Really thick and healthy too!Congratulations!

Let it grow out! I am in awe of your color and shine :) You're doing great!

thank you all! I think i will start using half updos more often cause it makes the long and the short part look nicer then using my hair all loose. i am one of those that LOVESS to wear hair down... so its almost impossible to put it up and "forget about it" ;)
now im really sad that the pictures came out wrong with the upload..i was so happy cause my boyfriend took them and the light was right, the colour was right... and then imageshack changed the colour and i dont have photoshop in this computer so.. bahh
