Pics of a year of growth

I hope I am doing this right, this is the first time I have ever posted an image to any forum....

I joined the site in July 07 - my hair was very dry, damaged at the ends and layered. I decided to try to get rid of the longer of the layers and some of the damage before I attempted to grow it any longer. I had my hair trimmed by around half an inch each month until March 08, when the longer of the layers had been cut out. The first picture was taken March 08, the second today. Sorry about the huge size of the first picture, but I just can't seem to resize it!

My ends are still a little damaged, but it is being dusted monthly to slowly get rid of the remaining damage, and regular SMTs seem to be helping my hair to stop breaking so badly now. There are also several silver hairs starting to grow through which I am trying to embrace - I have no colour on my hair and have no wish to start colouring it now, so I have to embrace the grey!

So, this is a big thanks to all who post here - I have learned so much from just lurking;)

Out of interest, what would my hair type be?

Your hair looks great, and I love the colour too. Great growth and good to hear there's life after layers. :D I think you look either 1a or 1b, if your hair normally looks the way it does in the recent photo, then you're a perfectly straight 1a. :)

In your first picture your hair looks like it has some wave to it but your second (newest) picture looks straight. If your hair is naturally like the second picture then I would say your a 1a.
