I have a couple layers that hit at chin and neck length. I like them, but I cut them blunt and when I wear my hair down, they "flip". Anyone know how to feather them so they blend with the rest of my hair better? I don't want to go to a salon just to have this done.

How? VERY CAREFULLY, that's how!:p

Er, sorry. I did this recently to my growing-out bangs, and I'm quite happy with the results. I misted just a little water on the bangs, held the ends straight between two fingers and snipped straight up into the ends with my super-sharp hair scissors. Just a bunch of little snips, about 1/2" up into the hair, each snip just taking a few hairs. It made the ends just a little lighter, so when I push the bangs over to the side they hang better.

I've done the same thing that Roseate describes, only with thinning scissors.

I used to pull all my fringe forward, line it up with my nose, twist in one direction, snip the ends, twist in the other direction, snip the ends. I liked the results.
