Hi, I was just wondering what (unbraided) bun would produce the best waves.

TIA!

I use the double buns in my siggy to get waves. The day before I want the waves I wash my hair. Then when it is almost dry, but still damp, I do two cinnabuns. I wear it like that all day. At the end of the day I take them down, but don't touch them until the next day. I usually wear it in wavy pigtails, but down would look good, too. It would probably be best to leave the buns in at night, too, but I can't sleep with my hair up.

I'll bet bee-butts are good, as are nautilus. My least favorite for waves is a cinnamon bun, because the first loop tends to create a big kink at the back of the head.

I have done several little cinnamon buns all over my head secured with good days pins. Its actually cute. I got several compliments. I didnt want to tell anyone that it was actually my equivalent of coming to work with rollers in my hair! :eyebrows:

I like figure-8 or French twist waves. This is what French twist does look like:

And here's figure-8:

An inside out bun, especially done with slightly damp hair, will give me big spiral curls down the length.

Hey Karenlynn,

I don't know what an inside out bun is. I just checked your albumn and was impressed with all your updos. Which one is the inside out bun?

Doesn't the bee-butt need lots of hair? To get it to have that shape?

For waves a cinnamon bun is enough for me, but it's best it my hair's damp when I do it. If it's flatish to my head it dries quite thoroughly. That's always my main concern. And don't tie it first!

YogaGirl59 - Thank you! This (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=376&pictureid=31626) should take you to a picture of one. Hope that helps!

WritingPrincess (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/album.php?albumid=605&pictureid=6275) did an experiment like this once. . it was so adorable even if it doesn't produce awesome waves. .
