I am just wondering if mixing 2 or 3 kind of oil together for the hair can be useless ??

like some of oil can loose its benefit !!

or better to use them separately

On the contrary, I think that the benefits of different oils combine and multiply when mixed together. Also, the texture may be improved - for example, straight shea butter sits on top of my hair, while my home-made hair butter (shea, cocoa butter, coconut and olive oil) is absorbed beautifully.

According to the Beauty Brains (http://thebeautybrains.com/2007/05/14/two-natural-oils-that-make-your-hair-shiny-and-strong/), mixing oils might even give you better benefits from using them separately.

Mix away!

I mix them all the time. OCM for the face is a combination of oils.

I agree with everybody else, mixing oils is a great idea and allows you to get more benefits. The only thing i would say is that if you mix oils with herb extracts in then it would dilute the herb concentration

Oh your welcome. I sometimes do an oil massage in salon too and they mix coconut oil with sesame oil and a hint of lavender essential oil for the massage purpose. I tell you it feels great and the hair feels healthy and shiny after i wash out that oil.

Yep, go right ahead and mix away!! I just bought a premixed container of Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, and Coconut Oil - so far so good... My hair and skin loves it :D

I would qualify that in terms of what the oils are being used for and what you want them to do.

Not all oils penetrate skin and hair to the same degree. Jojoba oil, aside from surprisingly having issues previous unknown to me and others, http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showpost.php?p=493048&postcount=550 did not work very well as a pretreatment, before conventional hair lightening and colouring.

If one oil does not penetrate hair or skin and another does (like coconut oil), the non penetrationg oil may just prevent coconut oil for example, from penetrating hair or skin in a mix.

It is all about the oils themselves, the mix and the purpose of the recipe, IMO.

I wouldnt recommend it,as vatika has herbs that are already diluted with coconut and adding in more base oil is diluting them more. So use that for scalp and then you can add a whole mix of oils to your length. That way your scalp gets all the goodness of the herbs:)

Not necessarily. It depends on the oils and whether you just want detangling for example, or deep conditioning.

I take it you are talking about carrier oils, not essentials? Each carrier oil has its own benefit, so mix away! Be very careful if using essential oils. They can be very volatile.
