A very Talented self Braider

I've never tried doing double french braids before. My arms get tired enough just doing a single! I guess it's a sign that I need to exercise more. :D

Two french braids isn't any harder than one, but you have to get your arms used to it. You also get faster with practice, so you don't get the feeling your arms will fall off after a while.

Copasetic, have you tried learning? There are good instructions for how to french braid your own hair online, such as at Dreaweaver (http://www.dreamweaverbraiding.com/braids/self_french.htm). Alternatively, I learned out of the book Hair: a book of braiding and styles by Anne Akers Johnson. Also try dutch/inside out french braids. I learned these first, and thought they were easier.

And my little sister and my mother envy me sooo badly.
I always do this to make my braided bun.

They don't turn out good every time though...hehe..
I tend to make the second braid lower than the first one.

For me the most difficult part of making douple french braids is to get them to look symmetrical, one is always higher or lower...

Has anyone used the Braid Your Own Hair (http://www.braidedimage.com/Braided_Image_Hair_Braiding/Instructions.html) by Karen Ribble? I think having a DVD could be very helpful! I know how to french braid my own hair, but I have, as yet, been unsuccessful in learning other variations.

When my hair is longer I can easily do both double french and dutch braids, and I get them fairly symmetrical, my problem is getting them *pretty*.
I can't get the "bumps" looking nice lined along my head, they're just all over the place and looking weird.
I think I'll have to work on getting them in a nice smooth line, whether it be a straight or curved line... *makes a note on the list of things to to when my hair grows out again*
