Side neck pains

OK I know some long haired people get headaches / neck pains because of the weight. I generally do not, however, I have some recuring kind of muscle contraction on the left side : top of the shoulder + neck side. It dawned on me yesterday that it may be because I always (90% of the time) wear an off-center braid, to the left. I'll try braiding on the right to see if things change, but anyway : has anybody ever experrienced this kind of thing ? Do you thing it is possible at all ?

well, i'd been having pain on my neck; since i cut my hair i realized it faded away.

I also observed an increrase in pain when something pushes or pulls at my neck, or for example, when i wear scarf tightly around my neck.

Neck is a sensitive area, so i think it's possible.
