Thought this might provide an interesting diversion.

Rules: A haiku is a poetry form that has three lines, and follows a 5/7/5 rhythm form--that is the first line has 5 syllables, the second has 7, and the last has 5.

Added challenge, you have to base your haiku on something brought to mind by the haiku above yours, for example if the one above you is about hair, then something also related to hair in some way would be appropriate, say washing your hair. The person after you can continue the hair theme, or might change the theme to washing something else, or something related to water in general. Let's see how it evolves!

I'll start:

Silken spiral falls
strands opening in slow whorls
long tresses cascade

bumping since I posted this somewhat late last night...

silk-spun ribbon winds
plays peek-a-boo in your hair
intricate styling

arms aching - oh, so
frustrating! Fancy updos
always out of reach

I'm not in top form, but I need another glass or two of wine before I really hit my haiku stride. Then, of course, I'm prone to breaking the 5-7-5 rule and claiming that its a valid variation from ancient Japan when challenged :>

Over my shoulder
A gold satin sail unfurls -
Sudden winter gust...

I love haikus :)

crinkle, crack, snap, pop
static-possessed strands
frozen winter air
