What is this bun called, if you've seen it before? It's a cinnabunny (which is pretty much, hair tied in a loose knot to make a ponytail), with the "tail" braided and wound back up around the bun. So it's like a cinnabun, with a braid around it, but made from a cinnabunny. I guess. LOL. Mods, all apologies...I don't know how to re-size. :o Here's a sort of side view, to get a visual reference:

And here's a straight-up from-the-back view:http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/picture.php?albumid=2615&pictureid=33233

That looks fantastic on you! I want to try that, but I fear my hair is too short/ thick for it right now.

A cinnabunny is a ponytail that comes out of a cinnabun, and it looks like this:

(sorry, still don't know how to resize. :() I took the ponytail you see above, and braided it and wound it around the cinnabun part. LOL. So I guess we have a new style! :D Thanks for the compliments...I thought it was cute, and I wondered if it had a name, so I thought I'd share. Cinnabraidy Bun?

It isn't a cinnamon anymore since you knotted it, it doesn't look like a cinnamon anymore either. I'd call it a braided knot bun, but then that isn't exactly right either since you didn't braid it before knotting. Tricky

But cinnamon bun name cannot be in there in any case, as that isn't there anymore.

I always called it a swirly bun with a plaited tail.
I think you are doing what I do, which is to take this style

and plait the tail?

I would still call it in the family of "cinnabun" since I twisted it around to make the knot. I didn't just tie it off, it's twisted around like the first layer of a cinnabun and THEN pulled through itself. (And it still looks like the middle of my cinnabuns to me. I can tell it's twisted; guess everyone's hair looks different!) So it's still "cinnamon"-y, which I guess is why they call it the "cinnabunny" when it's just the knot with a ponytail through it. I didn't name that part, I've seen a lot of people call it that, whether it has an "official" name or not, so it's stuck with me. LOL. ;)

"Knot a braided bun"? Hehehe.

Thank you! I just took all of my hair, and twisted it around like a cinnabun, and after the first twist met itself, I pulled the remaining hair through, and let it hang down. A ponytail knot, of sorts. :)
