I've learned a lot about hair care over the years both here and elsewhere, but I've never learned how to do any sort of updo. The main reason I'd like to learn some is because at work (I'm a busboy :(), there are of course health and safety regulations about how hair should be kept. For whatever reason, it needs to be kept off the neck or properly restrained. I don't like doing high ponytails anymore because the weight of the hair hurts my hairline, so what I'm required to do is put the length under my work shirt. I braid it so it doesn't get all messy and stays put to some degree. However, this gets quite painful, and lots of strays come loose.

What sort of updos are there that even I could do? I need them to be secure, so they don't fall apart while I'm working. Can anyone help me?

Look here:

The website is in German, don't worry about that. The photos are kind of self-explaining. And there are really good videos on this page as well.

Try this! :) http://hairstyledictionary.ztn.net/

You can search by difficulty, style... even gender neutral styles!

Can you do a bun that will stay all day? Mine stay all day without budging, so that is my suggestion. And looking at the recommended sites above can't hurt!
