Heyy, can someone tell me what bananas do for the hair? Like what are they good for?
Thanks!

I haven't used them, but they're supposed to be good for moisture.

Word to the wise, though: Use banana babyfood, or put the banana in the blender/food processor and blend it to death. If there are any chunks, it's supposed to be really nasty to wash out.

lol
There was a thread about it (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=4156) long long time ago.
Despite that, some people do use banana yogurt baby food (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=10381), also in the caramel treatment (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=454).

Bananas on the head are good for nothin'! Unless you like stinky banana smelling hair with bits of banana boogers in it :scared: and :shake: You might check the old LHC archives too for more threads on banana hair. I know we've talked about it several times.

I've never felt tempted to put it on my hair :) I read too many horror stories about it

hahaha
i recently had the bright idea to mix a banana in with my herbal cleaning mixture. while it made it easier to spread on my hair and felt wonderful going on my head - afterwards no matter how much rinsing i still had tiny chunks of banana gluing pieces of my hair together... not fun!

i had to resort to using conditioner to get the rest of the banana out! also it made my hair frizzy and tangly and seemed to increase the cleansing power of the herbs... i was expecting moisture - if anything - i actually just used it to provide some slip to the herbs which it did wonderfully - too bad the cons outweigh the pros.
