I was seriously wishing for super curly hair yesterday, even to a point where I busted out old pics of me with perms admiring the curls:o( I know I'm pitiful) and started to consider actually getting a perm:run:
I haven't grown my hair this long and lovely only to destroy it now so I have come up with a solution..
Starting today, I am going to put my hair in curlers every morning and enjoy curls for a week (7 days) until next wednesday. I know that the change will do me good, and the curlers will not damage my hair. After a week of enjoying what I don't have naturally, I'm sure I will be happy to see my fluffy waves again.
Anyone want to join me? This is strictly non permanent change here. No cutting, chemicals, etc..
And yes I promise to post pics:D

I don't have the discipline to get up earlier every morning to put in curlers so i won't join you, but i'm very curious of the result! :)

What a clever idea! A few years ago I would have joined you in a heartbeat, but now I always wear my hair up and my natural type is just right.
I'll be interested in seeing pics as well.
I'd have given a good deal to have hair with natural waves, but my hair doesn't hold curl or wave, even permanent waves fall within days.

I have done this before, it helps to get over humps that we deal with on boredom. Have fun:cheese:

What a neat idea. Good luck!
I'll have to remember this, but i think first I would like to find some soft type rollers to sleep in.

Sponge rollers can be covered in cloth and that works well. I have some that I bought and some that I made. Satin is nice for the material.:D

ahaha sorry, I would but my layers are really mean and stick out of my curls. I used to do that last year, have you tried rag rolling? I also made my own hair rollers out of fabric and stuffing, it worked pretty well :]
when the shortest layer of my hair gets to apl or bsl I will join you!
ETA: I think this might be slightly off topic but I found the link where I learned how to make fabric rollers. they're really comfy to sleep in and easy to make in case anyone wants to try curling their hair as well :]

After washing my hair, it is very wavy and I can get it very curly with gel and scrunching. After a couple of days of wearing it up it begins to get straight. If I don't wash for a week it will be stick straight.

Those look great! Did you say you roll them in the morning? Do you just air-dry them after that? How long does it take?
Now I'm wondering whether dry sponge rollers on damp hair would actually be absorbent enough to dry my hair somewhat. Someone needs to invent microfiber sponge rollers already! :p

Wow, thanks everyone for the compliments:D
I roll my hair dry on sponge rollers, spray my head with a little water and oil, and then let it sit for about two hours.
I don't spray it wet, just a wee little damp, it's dry in 30 min. I takes me almost 30 mins to roll my hair up, so I'm getting up that bit extra to do it:rolleyes: but then I have two hours to let the curlers sit while I do morning chores before I leave for work.
I was really surprised, the curls last all day.:D
My avatar is my hair normal wavy. I love the look of the curls, and I don't fuss with my hair so much during the day. When my hair is wavy, I feel it always looks so messy I put it up. :shrug:With curls I have worn my hair down the last three days cause it looks so nice.
I really like this change challenge, thanks for letting me share it:)
