I thought this might be of interest to the board, especially our male members.
Spring is finally in the air here in the UK, and I started browsing through the gardening section of my local bookstore. I found several books by the renowned organic gardener Bob Flowerdew, and I realised that he's had long, braided hair since I first saw him on TV, some 10-odd years ago.

So, I looked him up and found this article (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/article742559.ece). Apparently, he hasn't cut his hair for roughly 18 years (says 15 in the article, which is dated 2006) and he washes it with whisked egg, beer or clay shampoo. He and his wife also use organic oils on their skin.
One of the reasons he started growing his hair is that he thought it would act as a dream aerial. :p The old hippy! :D
I wonder how long his hair is, worn loose...
Oh, and he's a proponent of organic permaculture, low-effort, no-dig gardening. My kind of gardening, actually! ;)
