I tried to search but I can't come up with what I was looking for. How would I go about cutting bangs like this or the whole style? All of my hair is the same length so should I attempt this or try going to a stylist?

I would go to a stylist that way you know it is done correctly (bring the pictures with you) then after you can trim them yourself as needed. I first got side bangs back in Dec 08 which I had a stylist do and I love them. :)

Thats what I figured but was hoping it wouldn't be hard because all the places around here so far try to butcher long hair.

I found these YouTube videos SUPER helpful. It's a while since I watched them, so I can't remember if all of them deal with side bangs:

It's a while since I saw this one, but I think it helped:

I don't think she *really* has sideswept bangs.

I think her hair is cut on a center part with graduation at the front and this picture has been taken with her hair styled in a side part and the shortest bit on the left side combed to the right to simulate sideswept bangs for the pic.

Maybe Rymorg will show up and contribute her opinion as a stylist.

I'm here, I'm here! Thanks Misstwist! :D

That is not a true side bang. It's part of the angle in the front, parted off center and combed to the side to simulate side bangs like Misstwist said.

As for the cut itself, I don't recommend doing layers yourself anyway....I've seen far too many people come in to me to fix their own layering after hacking at their hair. I don't even cut my own layers.

And btw, you ALWAYS want your hair cut to the center part, even if you don't wear it parted in the center. That way everything is even. If I cut to a side part then that person would have to get the part EXACTLY where I put it to keep from having short pieces here, long pieces there. So I cut it parted in the center then check it parted where they normally part it.

Thanks everyone I think I will just play with my hair to see if I can get the bangs look. I appricate the input it helped alot. I will try to find somewhere to get the layers in the front done and not do them myself I dont want to mess up all my hard work.
