Greetings!

It has been some time since I was last at a length I couldn't quite title.

After my big cut last year to waist length, it was easy to remember, but
now that it has reached a new length I'm not sure what to call it.

What is the term for 'top of one's butt crack". I'm sorry, I'm being serious, though.
I always thought 'tailbone' was the bottom of the line, but then again, 'classic'
is the bottom of the buns. We won't be there until next year.

The top of the... erm... vertical smile... is tailbone. :D

 Tee-hee-hee.

In all seriousness, yes. That's tailbone.

Tee-hee. Butt crack.

Yes, I'm four.

TOVS! :)
Also, in a much sillier vein: How long is your hair? (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=24)

;) That's what I'd call tailbone.

Hi Karen Marie! I have missed you lately,:waving: waves simplylonghair
Don't feel silly, we have all done things like that, I cut back from tailbone to waist to get rid of the fairytales ends that I got from a major shed, so I understand. Happy growing!

Wow, Congrats on your new length! IMO it doesn't matter that you got your hair cut, your still a long hair Goddess. Your website helped inspire me to grow my own hair. Thank you for that:)

Maybe we should call it BCL? ;) To go with the other abbreviations?

TOVS is "top of vertical smile". It means the same as what you suggested, but is less likely to attract unsavory types. :)

Will you ever post pics again? I'm happy your hair is coming back. It is certainly beautiful.

Yep, tailbone. Or maybe "ack, what is my hair doing in there?!?!" length.

I'm there too. Planning on growing again, but I'm not quite sure what I'll do when hairs start getting... caught....

Karen Marie??!!!! :thud: Hello, hello, hello!!! :waving:

You are not the only one who had a major chop (even though my length was never even close to yours). :blueeek: I'm growing back too, and I'm so envious of where your length is now. I vote for BCL -- may as well call it just what it is. Congratulations!!! :happydance:

It is wonderful to see you (and I'm looking forward to a current pic!)! :joy:

OK, I'm officially changing my length to "BCL" Much more descriptive than "Tailbone."

This thread is making me think of a close friend- she came from a longhaired family, but they all trimmed their hair to maintain at BCL.

Why stop there, I asked? "Interference with bodily functions" was her mother's succinct answer.

LOL...perhaps I should clarify, I'm at BBCL. (Barely)
Then again, I guess that would be right, I'm getting just
over 1/2 growth each month, and it has been a few weeks
shy of a year since my last cut.

You know, even though waist length / BCL is considered long,
it really doesn't feel like it to me. I'm not sure this is due to the
fact that it used to be super long, but it's odd. There have been
many on the boards who feel the same.

I have to admit, I would like to return to thigh or knee, which
was my favorite length, and if I'm honest with myself, that isn't
so far away. Time flies. Especially now that I am working full time
with a commute. Boom. A year has passed. Three years and I'll
be back where I started, hopefully.

:)

BCL seems more vague to me...Tailbone is more exact to me, bcl is a several inch expanse.

Depending on proportions, it's more than that. I've got a big rear, and it's going to be nearly a foot classic, if I measured correctly a few years ago.

:p Alright, fair. My point was just that TB is more specific than BCL. BCL seems to me the in-between-TB-and-Classic-length length.
