Persons. ;) I have one, lots of people have one, too. Maybe we should found a dragon-hairstick-anonymous-club. :silly:

I have one. It makes quite a dramatic statement.
I like to wear hairsticks to convey a subtle message, mood or to just display my quirky sense of humor. (Yes, I dress for my mood . . . I'm still 6-years-old on the inside.)
This one is fun to wear for so many reasons and I always get a compliment when I wear it.

Strangely enough it's more expensive on etsy than on ebay:

Used to be the other way round.

I always keep an eye on those things. Just buy wherever is the best deal I'd say ;)

I wanted to get it (since I wanted to do some retail therapy) but a friend told me I would have problems with customs if the seller sends it to me from outside the EU..

eadwine
March 30th, 2008, 01:14 PM
Ehh.. that is nonsense.

As long as the value is low you are safe to order anything you like from outside the EU.

Yes I am sure. The same laws apply here. When value on the box coming from a business outside Europe gets to be over a certain amount (22 Euros in NLs case) you run the risk of customs slapping extra taxes on the purchase, depending on the value stated. I am pretty certain that is what the person was talking about.

Que is pretty cheap, so I doubt you have anything to worry about. Have fun with the purchases! :D

Ooh....pretty.

I notice that it says it's 6.5", but I assume that means overall length. How long is the functional stick? I've had problems with sticks being too short and falling out of a bun.

Even if you do have to pay customs - it's about 25% of the total value, which in this case is still cheap.

Once you start buying this in the 300EUR and up range, it's something to consider (ask me how I know. Or don't, I'd rather forget).

I'm so glad you posted that link on here - I don't often indulge in hair toys and it usually has to be something pretty special to get my attention but I found a couple of gorgeous pieces that I immediately fell in love with on there! :D http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=8001135
and http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=8001134 Have to say I can't wait to recieve them :)

I've been hit by customs charges before, and it hurts (the items coming to me were of high value) but I find they tend to ignore smaller purchases like these so you should be fine with buying them. Just my experiences :)

I just received two aprons I bought on etsy, shiped from the US. The amount stated by the seller was 40USD, but customs stamped it as "exempt from duty".

Can you ladies use these to actually hold up your hair? Looks like everything is so short and delicate. My hair is not thick but I still need at least 5" functional length.

I have the owl stick which is long enough in usable length, but I don't dare put the same forces on it as on my regular wooden sticks, so it is held up with scroos mosly, the bun.

Has anyone tried one of the QueCraft forks? They look like fun and I've been trying to find a cheap fork to see if they'll actually hold my hair or not.
