In the fall there was a thread about using pumpkin for hair so I know some of us used it. Now, I found cold pressed pumpkin seed oil, has anyone tried that?

I've not used pure pumpkin oil on my hair, but I used to use Healthy Hair Concepts Pumpkin Puree Maque and WOW it was so awesome on my hair. Cone-free, too. I stopped using it as it was way expensive.
I've also used pumpkin extract on my skin, as it's a natural exfoliant. Not sure I would use the extract on my hair, though.

ETA: am wondering if applying pure pumpkin (microwaved and mashed) or pumpkin baby food would achieve same effect? HMM.

What I found is pure pumpkin oil so I may pick some on and try a test area.

I doubt it because pumpkin seed oil is from the seeds as opposed to the flesh, the flesh might make a nice hair mask as it contains other nutrients like beta carotene though :)

I would be interested in this too, I love pumpkin to eat and I used to love a face mask by BBW with pumpkin in it. I also saw some pumpkin hair products on amazon that I've been interested in trying.

From what I've been reading you can't cook with it as in heating but it can be drizzled on things for flavoring such as pasta and it doesn't go rancid nearly as fast as other oils.
I saw it at Wholefoods but when I went back last night it was all gone. :( Now I'm obsessed to find it! If it doessn't work on hair I can eat it :p
