I'm going to be doing an Morrocco method thinking trim soon though. Realistically the last two inches have their share of splits. My family likes it around arm pit, or shoulder blade.

I don't think you need to trim. And what your family likes is irrelevant, it's what YOU like that counts. :)

You could try doing S&D to get rid of some splits, trims often do not get rid of enough splits (been there, done that) so you lose length but keep some damage.

If you really want to trim, then do it. :)

April 3rd is a thicking day on the Morrocco trimming calender. I have noticed thinning around my part, and it's really starting to scare me. I read it can be a sign of female androgenic alopecia. In my case I hope it's just from my hypo-thyriod which I just found out about last Oct. I'm on thyroid replacement, and the major shedding has stopped, but my crown area is thin near the part. I've also got breakage at the crown. This photo is much too kind. Only wish it looked so good in real life.

My family (apart from DH) prefer my hair in a pixie cut. I say, do your own thing! :)
