Sadly, not much growth to report. :(

Still the same dry and curly---23.5"
Straight, I have shown growth of 1/4", making it 27.5.

I have been sick throughout much of January, plus I had a surgery. I have been shedding alot. Bloodwork shows I am deficient in much of the stuff you need to grow hair. Guess all that stuff really affected my growth.

Hope February is a better month!

I haven't had much growth this much. This is totally normal for me. I tend to hit a growth spurt Feb/March. I'm pretty sure I'm about 31-32, which is tailbone length for me :D

My hair is getting harder and harder to measure by myself, I feel confident to say 19", but it could be 19.25-19.5". I am very happy to say that its getting longer, and its harder to measure, so from now on I think I will go by body measurements, I started in November at just barely past the shoulder now I am well past collar bone, so I am happy with the progress. I will post an update picture in my sig this week.

Im at 31 1/2. This is only the second time that I have measured so it's crazy to see 1/2 growth in 3 months. Including alot of micro trims.

I'm at 17" today. At the first of the month I was 16.25". I think taking MSM gave me a little length boost from my standard 1/2 inch a month. So I'm happy!

I hope February is better for you too! And - at least you grew 1/4" even though you haven't been well. You must be getting close to waist at 27.5". :D

I am at 28" - I grew about an inch this month, started Monistat January 1st. I trimmed a bit of the end of my braid last night, I wanted SO BADLY to cut the whole thing off at my shoulders for a minute there (was taking pictures of my oiled braid to get an idea of my thickness - it was depressing!), but I restrained myself.

30" :sigh:
though it is depressing because its very thin at the bottom from the layers :/ (I posted a new pic in my album from last night)
I'm hoping that I can start getting rid of some of the layers, trimming starting when I get to tailbone, which is about 6 or 7 inches away.

I measured last week and then had DH measure. I'm at 22 inches.

That's only 5.5 inches growth in 1 year. However, I was ill for a part of last year and that may have prevented good growth. I didn't trim at all.

I am now taking Biotin, Omega-3,6,9 and continue with a multi- vitamin/mineral.

Anyway...

Jan 2008 16.5 inches
Jan 2009 22.0 inches

Close enough to February

I'm 32 inches and a little past waist. I know I grew an inch since my last trim in early December. So I'm the typical half inch a month person. It's annoying that 32 inches is so short on me!

EchoAudra

32" That's two inches of growth since I joined in December :)

thetokenlady
February 1st, 2009, 10:08 AM
32.5, which is .5 inches. I measure 3 times because I never get quite the same measurement! I've been in a stall since last summer, and finally grew a half inch last month and the month before so maybe it'll start up growing steadily again. My other concern is the ends. The last few inches seem dry and damaged. I supposed I still haven't grown out all the dye I used to have.

Carolyn
February 1st, 2009, 11:00 AM
I'm going to call it 37 3/4". A gain of 1/2". I looked back in my blog and my last mini trim was Oct. 31 and I was at 36 1/2". I've done a lot of S & D so I'm sure that's where the missing 1/4" went. I'm happy.

Samara Morgan

I'm at 37 inches now which means I've had a half-inch of growth this month, which I'm quite happy with :)

I haven't measured for this month yet - I expect I'm somewhere around 35.5." I always measure wet though and I haven't washed for a couple of days... probably will Tuesday. Still on target for tailbone length in September! I've also vowed not to trim my bangs until I hit tailbone. At that point I am allowed to cut them back or whatever I want.

SchnauzerMom
February 1st, 2009, 12:59 PM
15 and 7/8 inches. It grew almost an inch last month. I wish it would do that every month. But some months it'll hardly grow at all. But it all averages out to 1/2 inch a month and that's great!

40.5!
a whole inch this month, I'm very pleased.

Also, my last trim was in July, putting me at 36.5....that's about 4 inches in 6 months. I'm beating the curve!
I'm so eager to see what it will be when I see this time next year.

February 1st, 2009, 08:42 PM
Okay, my DBF helped me measure again. It's only been a couple of weeks or so since I last measured (when I re-discovered this board).

I think the last time we measured (the 35.5" mark) my hair must have been damp lol. Evidently I've lost over half an inch (measuring tape read 35"). This could be attributed to measuring dry, plus my hair was bunned all day long and this made lovely but shortening waves.

I'll re-measure when my hair is damp again.

Does everyone measure wet or dry?

lizzyjo

31.5", up a 1/2 inch.

Well, I measured in at 17.5 inches (44.5 cm), which is a pretty huge jump for me. I'm doing the Mega Tek challenge, I hope this good growth lasts!

I'm at 15.5. I was 15 so I guess I'm right on target for the normal growth rate. I'm happy as long as it's getting longer. I can feel that's it's growing now. Yippie!!!

15" with bangs and about 5" layers.

Chrissy, nice to see someone else with hair at about the same stage as mine. Happy Growing!

Hi All! I have a quick question. Where do you hold your tape measure when measuring? Do you hold it at the top of your head at your crown? Thanks in advance! (o:

Hi All! I have a quick question. Where do you hold your tape measure when measuring? Do you hold it at the top of your head at your crown? Thanks in advance! (o:

I measure wet. I comb my bangs back so all forehead is showing. I have a widow's peak so I put the 0" of my cloth tape measure right where it begins. I then use big hairdresser clips to pin the tape down over the back of my head so it stays taut and in place. After I measure, and without telling what I got, I have DH measure. We are always the same so I feel it's all good. :)

I just marked my current length and goals on the tape measure for motivation and perspective. I guess the main thing is doing it consistantly so the measurements stay accurate. I measure a lot - it's just something I do while pursuing my hobby of growing my hair... ;)

I just measured my hair (with help) and it is now 52 inches! The last time I did a measurement was six months ago in late July, and was 50 3/4 inches, so I've had 1 1/4 inches of growth.

I'm holding out for that extra 1/50th of an inch and will measure tomorrow night :D

 I love it!

20.5, half an inch growth!

Hey Paper - great! I'm happy for you!
I need to get a new tape - my end got bad (it's only 39 yrs old!)

I'm going to go with the 22 inches I measured at last Tuesday when 1.5 was cut off.

Also, if anyone is interested - and hasn't seen this article I found it very interesting and amusing. It doesn't tell what to use - it's more about DONT MESS WITH YOUR HAIR - IGNORE IT AND IT WILL GROW! http://www.io.com/~cortese/hair/index.html

I just measured and I'm at 34 1/4 inches. I just joined so never thought to measure before. I guess I will finally see how fast my hair grows! Can't wait to see what I'm at next month. Although I do have layers, my shortest layer(besides bangs) is 24 inches, so I've still got aways to go to meet my goal....though I don't know if my husband will like my hair without layers so I may just keep them and grow the longest part out to 40 inches.

My hair was 24" in mid-December and now it's about 25 ¼"- pretty exciting for someone who's new to the whole measure-in thing! I never thought my hair grew much at all in that amount of time. Anyway, 1 ¼" of growth seems pretty good to me, especially considering it's winter and I live "up north." ;)

December 9th : 7 inches length in front
December 20th:7.25 inches
December 30th: 7.5 inches
January 19th: 8 inches
February 3rd: 8 inches.

Recap: Approx. 1/4 inch growth every 10 days between Dec. 9th through January 19th.
January 19th thru February 3 equals 15 days with no growth...maybe the diet I was trying wasn't very kind....oye.

I'm only 30.5in I think it was. Very disappointed. Usually my hair grows fast (for about 4 months I had 1inch growth every month) and my hair has barely grown .5inches since November. :( And I'm only inches away from where I want to be!! :( lol

Officially 30" long. Straight.

I'm not quite to waist yet. I think I'll trim back to BSL (which is like 27") to thicken up my ends/even out the layers.

23 3/16ths, but that is the very END of the tip. I may have to measure again because I'm not exactly sure that is my actual measurement.

My hair measures at 23.25 .. finally some noticable growth! What is SO ANNOYING is that when I pull my ends, they overlap my bra strap by like half an inch!!!!! Yay, you'd think, but as soon as I let go they start waving up and dissappear under all the layers. :justy: Come ON! How annoying.. I'm not even a curly, how is this happening??
