I made a new updo today. I Dutch-braided both sides, then merged the strands, continued braiding, folded the braid on top of my head, and secured the ends with the Mini Maxes. Does this have a name?

Sounds complex! I don't know names of styles very well but you could always name it Pierre's Mini-Max Braid-o-rama :p

If there were PICTURES, it might be easier to name that style. :flower:

I can see the double dutch braids to single english, I do this. But I don't get the rest.

Just shooting in the dark here, but it looks like his pictures are linked from the album in his profile. If the restrictions to those still happen when they're used in threads, then that would be why. You would likely be able to see them once you reach 25 posts. That's the threshold for you to be able to see user profiles and their albums (public ones anyway).
