I like the "Hime" style haircut. Here is an example: http://tinyurl.com/8sjrj3 However, If I got this style, I'd like it to be a bit different from this girl's.

I'd like there to be less of the "sides", maybe a quarter of the amount of "sides" in that picture (as in more long "back" hair, less "drastic".... more like Yuuko from xxxHolic, as shown here: http://tinyurl.com/94k2u7 )

My question is, to any hairstylists out there, do I have the right face shape for this style? I have some pictures of myself here:

My hair comes to my waist, and I plan on just having about 2 inches trimmed off the end.

Thank you in advance - I look forward to reading your answers!

The hime cut is so cute, isn't it? I'm not a hairstylist, so I can only give a layperson's opinion, but I think your face is fine for it. Is your hair heavy enough, though? I feel like you need heavy, straight hair that will keep the shape of the cut really well. Maybe it's just that only people with that kind of hair tend to get this cut. Well, if you don't like it, you can get out some gel and turn it into an emo punk cut instead, right?

I think that heavy bangs will look awesome on you--the chin length sides? The way you're describing, they might look mod--which is a look I like very much. Your hair is wavy, though--which will make it look mod, IMHO.

Honestly, I think that with your face shape, the front layer should be about chin length, or just a little bit shorter. That's just my opinion though.
I think that hime hairstyles are very cute :)

I think you should try bangs first and start with longer chunks on the side. You can always cut shorter later.
