I am in need of more updo styles. While I love many braids, I don't care for them on me. I also wish there were more modern and easy hairstyles that would work better with my job besides basic twist buns. Any ideas?

You Tube is a really great source – try searching for things like "high buns" or "messy buns".

I don't know what you mean by "more modern" but I feel that updos that go straight back on top take advantage of my hair's volume and look up-to-date. Today I am wearing my hair Frenchbraided starting at the hairline (getting my long bangs into the braid to keep them back) and then the braid is folded and clipped with a Ficcare. This 'do has more "poof" than the normal, skinned-back bun or ponytail look, and felt professional and flattering for a day at work. It may just become my low-maintenance "go-to" do.

Similar ways of doing a French Twist also work, but for me they don't contain all the wisps so I have to do them on dirty (less volume) hair...

In my album I have some pics of bangs clipped straight back, but I've been doing it differently nowadays since my hair is thicker...

I agree that Youtube is a useful source. I have a little channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/IsabelleNaturelle) there and so far I've only shown styles that I wear on an everyday basis - precisely to try and show how quick and easy it is to wear one's hair up and look neat. The styles are nothing ambitious but friends of mine kept asking me "how did you do this bun?" so I figured I'd share it on YouTube.
Hope no one will mind the self-promotion; I'm doing this channel for the exact reasons you're searching for styles, so hopefully you'll find it useful?
