Inspired by the 10-second quickbun thread and the favorite updo thread!

What are your favorite updos that have instruction videos on YouTube? Have you found new updos through YouTube that you like? Post the links! :]

Mine that I just found:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hxFNadKjFAThis particular video is supposed to be showing off the lady's hair, one of those bun-and-drop videos. What I like it for, though, is the bun she does - plus, my hair is the perfect length [tailbone] to mimic her movements and get a duplicate bun to stick my hairfork through. It holds very securely and looks nice! Does anyone know what this bun is called?

*awesome* idea! I'm actually sort of glad I've got my hair up in a showercap covered in SMT or I'd truly sit and go through each of those in turn... and I had an evening of Black Books planned...
There was a video of a beautiful fench twist with a scarf on youtube a little while ago; I just searched for it but can't find it :( I could never do it, but others might be able to. And might be able to give me some tips ;)
I'll edit it into here if I find it.

This is where I first learned how to do a quick updo on shorter hair like mine with a single hair stick. I watched her over and over while trying it on my own hair until I finally got it right.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-Meh8Swh38&feature=related

After a few times and playing around I discovered that this technique with a few modifications could easily look like a couple different buns or even a french twist.

Well, I like all of the posted videos, but when I tried BeautyWitch's bun, I failed. I can't see anything in the video, as the hair is very dark and I don't get the hang of it. Can anyone help me? Is there another video of this bun?

I'm probably the last person here to find out about this, but youtube is full of how-to bun videos! (I discovered this thanks to eadwine (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/member.php?u=11133)'s thread on the 10-second bun). I just typed in 'bun tutorials'. Wow! Here's my favorite so far, I'm determined to figure out how to do this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-Meh8Swh38

I LOVE this one -- looks kind of french-twisty and I could use one of my pretty barrettes to fasten it! (I'm not that long yet either -- I'll have to see if it could work now.)

I think the Asian bun one is just like Amorretti's wrapped bun on the old site which had pretty good instructions if you can find them. The only difference is she wrapped the ends round the bun at the end wherears they're left lose in the video.

Nope, I did too! I'm desperately looking for a classic and beyond style, but my hair's not long enough for the knee length styles. I'm kind of in between. So, if you all know any good ones for my length (classic), please....

I really like this one for teaching how to do a pair of French braids. The Expert Village videos are pretty clear and nice I think, even if they're done BY someone on a person's hair, and so you have to adjust for that.

These aren't long hair per say, but I did find them while hunting for retro hair styles that I can hopefully adapt to loooong hair.

The oh so over done Victory Rolls:

A beautiful updo:

Wavy classic look, she uses a hot roller but I'm sure it can be done without.

I loved this so much I just tried it half a dozen times. I'm having a hard time getting it to hold. I think she can do it with 1 stick because of her thick hair texture.

Anyways, she's loosely putting the end of her pony against her head. She holds it there and grabs the right edge to meet the center tuft, and again with the left edge. Then she secures all 3 sections with a stick. I can make it work with a ficcare! My hair is a bit too long for this and I'm having a hard time lining it up so I don't have a tuft of hair sticking out the middle :)

Let me know if you need more clarification on that :)

It's really quite lovely, I think I'll wear it to work tomorrow!!

I just can't roll my hair like these pentecostal girls do and they're not especially gentle with their hair but I do think that the hairstyles are amazing and I do admire how well they can put their long hair in an updo so well. Think I'll keep practicing!

I am absolutely going to be checking so many of these videos out. I recently learned how to french (dutch?) braid from a youtube video, having previously no experience. I thought it was so much easier to mimic someone's movements as opposed to following written instructions. Yay for visual learning!

I have a few outstanding hairstyling channels to share:
☺ Great channel with many braids and heatless, teaseless updos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQfO6kKw2xwRtCjylCNmxtQ
She speaks German, but every move is slowly and good to see.
☺ Awesome braids by Raychel Emmons: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxe7x21ltdu3QZ4X9q8JFbg
There are much more. I collected some on my blog. PM me for the link. ;)
