I have no idea what these are called, how you put them in your hair or where to find them. The only picture I can find is this grainy one of Emilie Autumn wearing them:

They're plastic/foam bendy 'tubes' that seem to wrap around the hair like horns. I've only ever seen Emilie wearing them, and a girl working in a Whittard tea shop a few years ago. I've always wondered what they are and where to get them, but googling for 'bendy hair tubes' isn't the most fruitful activity!

good grief - THAT's a frightening picture like something out of Star Wars - is it just foam-bendable curlers that the hair wraps around? If so, Avon sold some awhile back...I bought some but just gave them away a few days before Christmas.

You can get those here at any store that sells body products and such. Foam curlers is what we call them here I think.
Enter "foam curlers" in ebay, you'll see quite a few :)

:D Emilie is lovely, but her YouTube videos don't make for good screencaps.
Something like that. They tend to be bright colours and just sit in the hair looking interesting. I think they're meant to be decoration rather than anything practical.

Ooooh.
So they're meant for curling, but you can keep them in as a decoration?

I wouldn't do it as I wouldn't want to look like a goof.. but why not? ;)

You can use rope to good effect if you can't find bendy curlers.

They remind me of the Molton Browners (http://www.moltonbrown.co.uk/gifts/gifts-for-her/Moltonbrowners-Limited-edition-(pink).html) I had when my hair was shoulderlength ... I found them recently at the back of a cupboard, maybe I should put them on the swap board.

i thought they were a smaller version of these,

which are cyber falls :)

Yup, I agree with neon-dream - looks like tubular crin to me. I believe it's used in dressmaking, and it also gets used a lot in hair falls in the trance and cybergoth subcultures. It's very lightweight to wear. I haven't bought any in a while, but do a google search on 'tubular crin' and you'll find suppliers. :)

I did have a look in amongst the falls before posting here, but no luck. They're definitely solid. I do remember them being thicker than the foam curlers, but they probably come in different sizes.

I don't think those are foam curlers, just some sort of tubes...viva la improvisation! :D
